Ronnie 'Hi Ho' Silver was a firefighter at Shadbrook Fire Station during series 12. In series 13 he transferred to Blackwall Blue Watch. He earned his nickname from the Lone Ranger's trademark cry ("Hi ho Silver, and away!").
Biography[]
Hi-Ho was initially a firefighter at Shadbrook, where he crewed their Turntable Ladder appliance. During Series 12, while their own station received renovation work, Hi-Ho and Carmen Miller were on standby at Blackwall along with the TL where he constantly took the mickey out of Blackwall Blue Watch and Joe Walker in particular. Hi-Ho joined Blue Watch permanently in Series 13, along with Adam Benjamin as a replacement for Joe. He was frequently noted for his cheeky, mischievous humour. He was also teased about the rumours that he was a virgin, which he denied.
Hi-Ho was left devastated in Series 13, when he tried to rescue a girl from a flat fire and she died from her injuries. He considered resigning from the Brigade, but Geoff Pearce found a way to change his mind. Pearce took Hi-Ho to a cemetery, where a huge plaque, dedicated to the London Fire Brigade, listed the names of many firefighters who had given their lives in the line of duty, in particular the graves of John Hallam, Sicknote and Joe. Hi-Ho realised how many firefighters in the Brigade would rather die than run away from pressure and tragedy, and he withdrew his decision to resign. However, he had left Blackwall for unexplained reasons by the beginning of Series 14.
